A Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise opened at the Dubai Mall last weekend amid the fanfare usually associated with a hotly anticipated nightclub.

One private Instagram photo, shared with The Daily Caller News Foundation, shows a bouncer in a suit keeping the line in check.

Dubai five guys

More photos on Instagram and Twitter showed crowds in the mall’s crowded corridors, dressed in both Western and traditional Gulf Arab clothing.

The Arabic caption on this photo reads “the situation’s gone from bad to worse.”

A Twitter user wrote in Arabic: “Honestly the crowd was unbelievable. Hopefully it’s on the same level as restaurants in America.” (RELATED: Abu Dhabi Jails American For Facebook Post Made In Florida)

Another proudly shared a photograph of his menu, with items priced in Emirati dirhams.

And one Emirati Twitter user pointed out what Five Guys’ fans have long known: that mentioning the chain in conversation leads to easy occasions for innuendo.

Since opening as the world’s largest shopping mall in 2009, the Dubai Mall already features an aquarium, an indoor ice rink and countless other foreign restaurant chains.

The Five Guys chain originated in the Washington, DC area, and has rapidly expanded to Europe and other international locations in the last several years.
