The New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski is one of the most beloved players in the NFL, and it’s not just because he likes to have a good time.

The All-Pro tight end stopped by Boston Children’s Hospital on Wednesday to visit 7-year-old Divan Silva. Silva had been shot in Dorcester over Memorial Day weekend, and when he got out of surgery on Wednesday, he was surprised to find his favorite football player waiting to brighten up his day.
Gronkowski was in the area to deliver a check for $406,643, raised through the Dunkin’ Donuts’ Iced Coffee Fundraiser, and he spent the rest of the day visiting some of the hospital’s other patients.
The smiles say it all.
