National Journal columnist Ron Fournier argued Thursday that Hillary Clinton “should be sweating” because Americans simply “don’t trust her.”

Appearing on CNN’s “Inside Politics, Fournier told host John King that this all stems from her failure to be “honest with the American public” about her private e-mails.

“She is sweating, or at least, she should be sweating. You look inside that poll, 53% of Americans don’t trust her,” Fournier said, pointing to a new Quinnipiac poll. “Now, with that kind of number, either you’re not going to get elected, or even if you do get elected you’re not going to be able to lead, and that of course goes to all these scandals going on.”

“That’s going to be a real hard slog,” King said. “That’s a compilation of Bill Clinton legacy, private e-mail server, other issues.”

“She hasn’t been honest with the American public, so the American public doesn’t trust her,” Fournier added.
