After months of very public fertility struggles, Kim Kardashian announced she was pregnant with her second child by Kanye West late Sunday night. For a few hours, excited headlines guessed at her due date and potential baby names. There were even think pieces about “why America was so mean to pregnant Kim Kardashian.”

The 34-year-old reality star was basking in her usual place in the spotlight.

And then Caitlyn Jenner came along.

Days after reports surfaced that Bruce Jenner would pose as a woman on the cover of a magazine, Vanity Fair published photos of Caitlyn Jenner, “formerly known as Bruce” on Monday. His spread in the magazine is 22 pages long.

The cover photo shows the 65-year-old dressed in a white corset bodysuit with his hair in curls. Vanity Fair referred to him as “her,” and a behind the scenes video showed Jenner wearing a black dress and full makeup.

He had officially stolen Kardashian’s thunder.

Jenner’s cover story took the lead on TMZ, Huffington Post and the Daily Mail.

Bruce picked Caitlyn and not Kaitlyn, TMZ reported Monday, so he could distance himself from the Kardashian clan. He has not had “genital surgery” and it took 10 hours for his “facial feminization” surgery. (RELATED: Bruce Jenner Gets Facial Feminization Surgery)

“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself,’ and I don’t want that to happen.” (RELATED: Here’s Your First Look At Bruce Jenner As ‘Caitlyn’)

As far as gender pronouns go, Jenner doesn’t seem to be bothered, either.

“I don’t really get hung up,” Jenner said during the interview.

“A guy came in the other day and I was fully dressed—it’s just habit, I said, ‘Hi, Bruce here,’ and I went, Oh fuck, it ain’t Bruce, I was screwing up doing it.”

Although Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover came out the same day as Kim’s Glamour one, where she talks about getting pregnant in her interview, she didn’t seem to mind and tweeted out both.
