In his first interview since his shocking accident almost a year ago, a tearful Morgan sat down with Matt Lauer on “Today” Monday morning. The comedian said he doesn’t remember the June accident that left one dead and himself and several others severely injured.

“There are times where I have my good day and my bad days, where I forget things,” he said. “There are times where I get the headaches, and the nose bleeds. I won’t even let my lady know because I don’t want her to be worried about it.”

“The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac,” Morgan said. “Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal.”

Morgan recalled the last time he remembers seeing McNair alive. He said he asked McNair to help him with a Donald Sterling joke, and recalled how he stood to the side and laughed when Morgan told it during the show.

“Every day I would just watch the accident on YouTube. And one day I came across his funeral on YouTube, and I lost it for about a week.”

Morgan found out two weeks after he came out of his coma that McNair had died.

Last June, Morgan and several friends were returning from a show when a Walmart tractor-trailer struck the limousine van he was in, killing James McNair and severely injuring several others. He settled with the retail company last week. (RELATED: Tracy Morgan Settles With Walmart After Filing Lawsuit)
