Star Of The New Harry Potter Films Cast

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has been tapped to star in the newest installment of the Harry Potter series. Warner Bros. Entertainment made the announcement on twitter Monday night .

The actor will play Newt Scamander in a prequel trilogy called “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them.” The film will take place almost 70 years before Harry Potter first attended Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling has agreed to pen the script for the film.

Director David Yates stated in a press release that “Eddie is a fearless actor, brimming with invention, wit and humanity.”

“I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of working with him as we start this new adventure in J.K. Rowling’s wonderful world, and I know she feels the same way.”

The actor won the Academy Award for his rendition of Stephen Hawking in the critically acclaimed movie, “The Theory of Everything.”

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will be released on Nov. 18, 2016.
