A 14-year-old Texas girl, impregnated by a relative as the result of rape, was allegedly violently beaten by four family members because they wanted to induce an abortion.

Upon discovering the pregnancy, the family allegedly tried multiple alternatives including emergency contraception pills, several doses of birth control and cinnamon tables, listed online as “a uterine stimulant in high doses.”

The four were charged with “engaging in an organized criminal activity” and are alleged to have eventually succeeded in their desire after beating the pregnant child for six hours, who eventually gave birth to a stillborn baby.

Police allege those charged — Cedric Jones, 27, Sharon Jones, 45, Cecila McDonald 25 and Lonnell McDonald, 27 — then attempted to burn the child’s body, which was 8 months along, on their grill. To dispose of the remaining evidence, a family member is accused of paying someone $25 to “take care of the rest of it” by taking them to an as yet unknown location.

The alleged attack occurred in August of 2012 and the victim, now 16, is in the custody of child protective services.

A fifth relative, Robert Cayald, 22, was taken into custody as well and was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

NBC Washington reports six other children in the home were taken into custody of the state, and those charged with the beating are being held on $150,000 bond. Cayald, not charged in the beating, is being held on $25,000 bond.
