President Barack Obama appeared to snub Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on a park bench at the G-7 summit Monday.

A video shows Obama cozying up with Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

Abadi walks over and sits next to Obama, clearly wanting a word with America’s commander-in-chief. But Obama, his arm around Lagarde, is intent on speaking with the IMF director and Renzi.

The Iraqi prime minister rubs his hands nervously on his knees, scoots forward on the bench and re-adjusts his suit, anxious for a word with the U.S. president.

But in less than a minute, Obama stands up without looking in Abadi’s direction, although they were sitting inches apart. Abadi follows Obama’s cue, standing up and awkwardly checking his watch.

Abadi’s translator shrugs and the two walk away, while the president remains engrossed in conversation with Lagarde and Renzi.
