Alicia Menendez, a Fusion TV host, claimed that calling Hillary Clinton the nickname “Hillz” is sexist and damages her chances of victory, The Huffington Post reported Tuesday.

Menendez — who also happens to be the daughter of indicted Democrat New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez — suggests that this nickname is indicative of a more widespread problem in which media removes titles from women more often than men.

What’s interesting though is that Clinton has used the nickname “Hillz” in the past to refer to herself. This stands in contrast compared to the other “sexist” nicknames mentioned by Menendez such as, “granny” and “she-devil”.

Hillary referred to herself as “Hillz” when she autographed a photo for the creator of the Tumblr account “Texts From Hillary”. She wrote,” Adam-Thanks for the many LOLZ Hillary ‘Hillz'”.

Menendez also mentions a Washington Post piece that critiques Hillary’s cleavage display on the Senate floor. She claims that these sort of articles would never be published about male fashion choices. (RELATED: NYPD Charity Softball A.K.A. ‘Chris Christie Should Never…EVER Wear Baseball Pants Again’)
