One of the faces of the “Black Lives Matter” movement was accused of being a “race pimp” Tuesday during a heated exchange on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

DeRay McKesson appeared on the show after sending out a tweet that led many to believe he is part of group of activists paid to travel the country to protest incidents of alleged police brutality against minorities.

McKesson recently traveled to McKinney, Texas, where a white police officer was videotaped pulling his gun while confronting a group of mostly black teenagers and slamming a 15-year-old girl on the ground.

McKesson rose to fame during last year’s protests in Ferguson, Mo., following the police shooting death of Michael Brown. He was also a visible presence in Baltimore during the protests over the April 19 death of Freddie Gray. McKesson’s activism has earned him numerous cable TV interviews and a glowing profile in New York magazine.

After being asked by Hannity repeatedly whether he is paid to protest, McKesson finally denied that he is. He said he’s unemployed and has been using his savings and contributions from friends to travel the country on the protest circuit.

But the real fireworks came when “Black Sphere” radio show host Kevin Jackson confronted McKesson.

“You haven’t been to the funeral of any cop that was killed in the line of duty. I bet you that,” Jackson told McKesson, who was wearing his trademark sleeveless blue vest. “I bet you haven’t been to the celebration ceremony of cops who’ve protected many, many black people for decades.”

“I bet you haven’t been to the funeral of any of the kids that are killed that aren’t in these types of scenarios where race-baiters and race pimps like you appear,” Jackson continued.

“I bet you don’t care about these neighborhoods once you leave when you start problems or the money that has to be paid to restore them when people like you leave once you leave.”

“You’re a race pimp!”
