Republican Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan accused President Obama of holding the American people hostage Thursday, saying on “Fox and Friends” he was “dumbfounded” the president wouldn’t lay out a plan in case the Supreme Court overrules key provisions of Obamacare. HOST STEVE DOOCY: The administration and president saying himself, ‘I am not worried about it, really not my problem if the Supreme Court rules against me’… What’s your reaction to that?

RYAN: Well we had Sylvia Burwell– of King v. Burwell yesterday, the HHS Secretary– before the Ways and Means Committee yesterday. That’s basically the same line that they used, which is if this law is determined to be unconstitutional in the way they wrote this and jammed it through Congress– which we believe that’s the case– and they have no backup plan? I mean, you’ve got to be kidding me.

The question is, we’re preparing a backup plan to give people freedom from Obamacare. And what we’re asking is, are you going to work with Congress on this, or are you going to do my way or the highway? And I think that’s the plan. I think they’re basically going to try to hold people hostage in America for their ideological crusade, being stubborn and defiant and political.

People’s lives are at stake here, people’s livelihoods. In Wisconsin, we’ve had these massive premium increases, and people are hurting under Obamacare, and they’re going to be complacent with that? I’m just– I’m dumbfounded when I see this reaction.
