That is, unless this news is coming from Brian Williams himself. If that’s the case, he might have overheard somebody else talking about going to MSNBC, and now he’s telling the story as his own.

So what will Williams do? His portfolio will include a position on MSNBC, NBC’s struggling cable news channel. “He will be the face of MSNBC,” handling big breaking news stories, one of the people said on condition of anonymity.
If I said something like that out loud to a reporter, I’d want to be anonymous too. Why in the world would MSNBC want that guy to represent them? What about their integrity? What about their reputation? What about their commitment to honest, straightforward journalism?
