A video released Saturday on Twitter shows Los Angeles police handcuffing an unarmed man they shot in the head.

The man, who remains unidentified, is believed to be in his forties and Hispanic. He was waving over a police car around 6:30 p.m. in the Los Feliz area, northeast of Hollywood, while wearing a towel wrapped around his hand.

According to the two police officers, they stepped out of the car and asked him to lower his weapon, as they believed one was concealed under the towel. The man did not respond to the police orders and continued to extend his arm towards the officers, he was subsequently shot in the head.

Witnesses say they heard three or four shots. The police then rolled over the man, and handcuffed him. No weapon was discovered.
