The wife of Silvan Shalom, Israel’s vice prime minister and interior minister, tweeted and quickly deleted a “stupid joke” about President Barack Obama and race Sunday.
Judy Shalom Nir-Mozes, who usually tweets in Hebrew, tweeted in English, “Do u know what Obama Coffee is? Black and weak.”
She quickly deleted the tweet and apologized.
I apologize, that was a stupid joke somebody told me.

To give it more clarity, an hour later she said:
President Obama I shouldnt have written the inappropriate joke I heard. I like people no matter about their race and religion.

Complicating issues, Silvan Shalom was recently appointed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to lead the Israeli negotiations in future peace talks with the Palestinian Authority. “The prime minister has charged Silvan Shalom with conducting in his name the negotiations with the Palestinians,” YNet News reported in May.
