Disturbing video has emerged which shows a young woman being brutally attacked while holding a toddler.
The video appeared online on Tuesday, though it is still unclear where and when the attack took place.
The short video, which has gone viral with more than 6 million views on Facebook, shows a girl of unknown age harassing another girl who is seen holding a small child while sitting at a table with a friend. The attacker is also accompanied by a friend. Several bystanders are seen milling around what looks like a school playground or a public park.
The attacker grows more and more agitated during the video ordering the victim to “keep your mouth closed” and “get up.”
Teenage boys filming the incident can be heard mocking the victims and the baby. “The baby’s the reason she’s not getting beat up,” one of the videographers is heard saying.
“Save the baby,” one says in a joking manner.
The attacker then springs into action and grabs the victim by her hair. The baby is seen falling onto the concrete and lets forth a blood-curdling scream. The attack moves out into a courtyard or playground with the attacker pulling on the victim’s hair and kicking and punching her.
During the attack a bystander who was seen holding a basketball walks up to the fight and begins dancing erratically. Another teenager is seen filming the scene as well.
Details of the incident are sketchy. A caption on the Facebook page of the media company Media Takeout states that the child suffered a mild concussion. A request for more information sent to Media Takeout was not immediately returned.
A blog, The Last Refuge, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the attackers.
