The son of former District of Columbia “Mayor-For-Life” Marion Barry will be going to jail on the weekends now after violating his probation.

Marion Christopher Barry was sentenced to spend 15 days in jail Thursday for driving with a revoked license, a violation of his probation, The Washington Post reported.

Barry will report to jail July 3 and will be forced to spend each weekend at the facility for five weeks. The judge sentenced him to 180 days in jail, but suspended the vast majority of that sentence.

The judge placed Barry on 11 months of additional probation and he will be forced to attend drug and alcohol treatment.

Barry was arrested last summer for driving without a license, because it had been suspended by a judge after another incident in which he refused to obey the orders of a police officer.

In his latest, unrelated, run-in with the law, Barry received 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to throwing a trash can at a bank teller in January.

During that incident, Barry became upset with the bank worker after she refused to give him $20,000 and informed him that his account was already overdrawn by $2,000.

Barry became irate with the woman, threw a trash can over a bullet-proof security window, destroying a security camera, before allegedly saying “I’m going to have someone waiting for you when you get off, you bitch.”

Barry apologized to the woman, though during his trial his attorney presented a bank statement that allegedly showed Barry had $40,000 in his account, which he was trying to use to pay his campaign employees.

In the most recent city council election, Barry ran to fill his recently deceased father’s seat, but came up well short of that goal. He finished sixth among Ward 8 candidates, with just about 7 percent of the votes.
