The Huffington Post is exhilarated about a Seattle-based feminist’s “truly glorious” dream to produce and sell a Badass Feminist Coloring Book.

The would-be author of the Badass Feminist Coloring Book is Ijeoma Oluo, who bills herself as “a feminist writer and speaker” in her Kickstarter funding appeal.

The Badass Feminist Coloring Book, if it becomes a reality, will contain stark, black, white and gray images of feminists along with quotes by those people.

For example, the quote under Hari Kondabolu is: “We live in a world that is so sexist that women still can’t wear pants on public restroom signs”

Kondabolu is a graduate of Bowdoin College who is eking out a living as a comedian. (Annual tuition, fees and room and board at Bowdoin is $61,354.)

Another feminist featured in the prototype of the coloring book is Jenny Yang. She looks very angry in Oluo’s rendering of her. Yang’s quote is: “Find your fury.”

A third feminist featured in the prospective book is Michi Trota, a self-described community organizer who writes about geek culture.

Trota’s quote in the Badass Feminist Coloring Book is: “Your argument is invalid. Deal with it.” Oluo shows Trota crouched in some kind of ninja battle stance, wielding two blazing torches as weapons.

The “incredible” Kickstarter project is a “radical book” which “combines the meditative lull of coloring with the revolutionary spirit of feminism,” HufPo arts and culture editor Priscilla Frank gushes.

According to Oluo, the 20 different feminists (“at least”) in her coloring book “have awesome things to say.”

“These people are writers, comedians, mothers, daughters, sex workers. There are feminists of different ages, races, body types, gender identities,” Oluo explains, and “this is the intersectional feminist coloring book you’ve been waiting for.”

Oluo’s Kickstarter drive has been very successful. Her goal has been to raise $4,000. However, she already has $13,912 pledged from 393 backers as of Saturday.

“Nothing is more calming and strengthening to me than focusing on the amazing feminists fighting to make the world a better place,” Oluo earnestly told The Huffington Post.

“I wanted to shine a light on feminists that you may never have heard of — who don’t always fit the middle-class liberal cis heterosexual white woman image we usually see,” the coloring book author added. “I want people to see the beauty in feminism, not a conventional beauty that often hurts women, but a beauty that comes from strength, resilience, kindness and empathy. Also, I really just want to give this to my feminist friends, as a celebration of community and solidarity.”

On her Facebook page, Oluo’s likes include the Queer Students of Color Conference, Feministing.com, Plus Model Magazine, Blacks Going Vegan and, of course, Al Franken.
