Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj got into an argument on Twitter after Minaj felt she was snubbed from a video nomination because she’s black.
MTV released its nominations for the video of the year on Tuesday, and while two of her videos were nominated for best female video and best hip-hop video, Minaj wasn’t nominated for video of the year. (RELATED: MTV’s New Documentary Wants White People To Feel Bad For Being White)
She took to Twitter to voice her disapproval because she said that although “black women influence pop culture so much” the are “rarely” rewarded for it.

I'm not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it. https://t.co/2xOvJzBXJX

Minaj tweeted several times about the snub, and because Swift was nominated for video of the year, she thought Minaj was talking about her.
@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..

Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13

She offered this, but clearly Minaj was uninterested.
@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on.
