Even the Kardashians still call Caitlyn Jenner “Bruce.”
In an interview Thursday, Khloe Kardashian said her family doesn’t like to say that Bruce is gone, “per se.”
“We, my sisters and I, we will call Caitlyn ‘Bruce,'” Kardashian said. “And we’ve been told that’s completely fine.”
“She has told us we are allowed to call her any name we want to. Because on the phone, when she calls me, it’s the same voice as Bruce. And if I’m not physically with her, it’s hard to remember in the moment that I’m talking to Caitlyn, if that makes sense.”
“There was a hard time for the entire family, that we were all transitioning with her, but in front of an audience. That’s not really the normal way to go about it. There is a lot of raw emotions, that it’s hard to do in front of a camera. For us, we were trying to be really open and raw with it, I think.” (RELATED: Kylie Jenner On Bruce’s Transition: ‘I Feel Like I Go Through These Times Where I Hate My Life’)
In a new clip from the 65-year-old’s reality show, Jenner said that although he tried for years to sound like a woman so hotel clerks would refer to him as “ma’am,” he never did get the voice part down.
“For years, like if you called down for room service, okay? I’d be sitting there in my room all by my little lonesome, and I’d be thinking, ‘Okay, I’m going to try get my best feminine voice and call down so they say ‘yes ma’am.’ I could never do it.” (RELATED: Now Caitlyn Jenner Wants A Feminine Voice)
