Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump fired back at criticism about his high unfavorable ratings amongst Latino voters saying he will “win the Hispanics.”

Trump, appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” later doubled down and stated that he would also win the African American vote because he creates “jobs and they want jobs.”

Willie Geist: As you know, one of the big reasons Mitt Romney lost 4 years ago was that he got creamed among Latinos. He won 23% of the vote. Our NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll shows you have a 75% unfavorable rating among Latino voters, only 13% favorable. How can you win a nomination with those numbers?

Donald Trump: I’m going to win the Latinos. You know, I have thousands that work for me right now. And by the way, there was a poll out recently, a Latino poll, where I was at 35% and I was leading in the Latinos, I’ll find it for you. There’s another one in Nevada where at 35%, I’m way ahead in Nevada among everybody else. I’m in the mid 30s and with Hispanics, I was even higher than I was in the regular numbers and I won the Hispanics by a lot. So, I think what I’m going to do, I think what is going to happen, hey look, I’m talking about illegal immigration. A lot of hispanics that are legally in this country, they agree with me. I’m getting letters and calls all the time. I think I’m going to win. This will surprise you. I think I’m going to win the Hispanics and I think I am going to win the African American vote.

Joe Scarborough: Alright

Trump: Because I create jobs and they want jobs. They don’t want jobs from China, taking away from China, and all of these countries that are taking our jobs. They are ripping our country to shreds, and with me that will not happen.
