A pair of Texas men could face life in prison after torturing a gay black man for hours.

Jimmy Garza Jr., 32, and Ramiro Serrata Jr., 22, allegedly used a frying pan, coffee mug, belt and chair to beat the man. The victim also says they pistol-whipped him and sodomized him with a broomstick.

The Corpus Christi men then allegedly made the man take off his clothes and use them to clean up the blood in the apartment. Throughout the beating they allegedly yelled racial and gay slurs.

The victim says the men used a broom or mop and another unknown object to sodomize him. He only escaped by jumping out of a window.

The entire incident, which occurred March 2012, lasted about three hours.

Garza and Serrata have finally been charged with conspiracy to commit hate crimes, a hate crime violation based on race and color, a hate crime violation based on sexual orientation and using a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence.

The two men could face life in prison if convicted. They have a detention hearing Thursday.
