The following is a perfect example of why Bill Burr is one of my favorite stand-up comedians. He has a way of saying stuff that’s so true and so obvious, phrased in such a bluntly perfect way, that sometimes the audience isn’t sure whether they should laugh. You can almost hear them thinking:
“OMG, is it okay for me to enable this forbidden microaggression by spontaneously laughing at it? What will people think of me for failing to condemn such socially irresponsible thoughtcrime ‘humor’?”
Then they just get over themselves and do what they’re supposed to do: laugh.
