Donald Trump loved Miley Cyrus’s performance at the Video Music Awards so much that he called her the next day to tell her.

Two years ago Cyrus tongued a foam finger, grinded on Robin Thicke and twerked in front of millions to “We Can’t Stop.” It did not go over well with most of America.

Now, ahead of the VMAs Sunday, Cyrus is remembering how shocked everyone was. While most of the reviews were negative, Donald Trump’s wasn’t.

“I was in the studio with Kanye [later] that night, and we watched it back and we didn’t say anything,” Cyrus told the New York Times Thursday. “He was like, ‘That was sick,’ whatever. We woke up the next day…he called and said, ‘Turn on your TV.'”

“I was staying at the Trump Hotel and Donald Trump literally called and said, basically, ‘I know everyone’s talking about it, but I loved it.'”

“I had no idea anyone was talking about it yet.” (RELATED: Miley Cyrus Pitched A Fit At NYC Hotel)
