Politico has now officially lost 13 reporters to CNN in the time span of one year.

The latest casualty is media reporter Dylan Byers.

Not to worry, fans. He’ll maintain that tan as he reports from Los Angeles.

Talks have been in the works for quite awhile.

A quick style question: Will he keep the goatee look or will the powers that encourage him to opt for a more clean cut look?

See the memo below.

Subject: Welcome to Dylan Byers, Senior Reporter – Media and Politics

We’ve dominated every big media story of the past year. And now we’re positioning ourselves to dominate the space even more: Dylan Byers is joining CNNMoney and CNN Politics as Senior Reporter, Media and Politics.

The addition rounds out an already powerful team: Brian Stelter, Tom Kludt and Frank Pallotta, with editor Mark Mooney and senior producer Molly Shiels. It also brings an important dimension to our growing political coverage.

Dylan comes to us from Politico where he distinguished himself as a fearless reporter on all things media, willing to take on political figures and media organizations. He’s fast, provocative — and makes news that people want to talk about.

Dylan will continue to work from Los Angeles, and focus on the intersection of media and politics.

Welcome Dylan!
