In a commercial for the National Rifle Association, “Lone Survivor” author and retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell tells Islamic extremists that although they seek to destroy American freedom, they don’t scare him.

Set against scenes of America’s heartland, churches, and New York City, his words illustrate the American liberties terrorists seek to eradicate through the murder of Americans and attack on American culture.

“You hate my freedom, my religion, and my country. You hate me, for speaking my mind. You try to control me with violence and intimidation,” says Luttrell in the video. “Don’t ever confuse me for my politicians or my media. I am an American, free born, and free bred.”

At the close of the video, Luttrell says, “I cower to no man, because… I am freedom’s safest place.”

Luttrell’s fame comes from his portrayal by Mark Wahlberg in the 2012 movie “Lone Survivor,” based on the book by Luttrell of the same name. Both book and movie tell the story of Operation Red Wing, a failed Navy SEAL mission to kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah.

In 2015, Luttrell appeared with 2016 presidential candidate Rick Perry during Perry’s candidacy announcement, and has supported the governor’s race, which is currently suspended. (RELATED: Rick Perry Dropping Out Of Presidential Race)
