A Division III football game is making national news after a video showing one player violently assaulting an opponent on the field went viral over the weekend.
During Saturday’s matchup between Westminster College (PA) and Washington & Jefferson College (PA), Westminster running back Isaiah Faulk slammed W&J’s Zac Dickey to the ground before repeatedly punching him in the head.
WATCH:
W&J coach Mike Sirianni called the play blatant “assault and battery,” adding that it, “was one of the most atrocious things [he’d] seen on a football field ever… There’s no reason for that.”
Faulk was ejected form the game, and W&J would go on to win by a final score of 35-31.
