Say goodbye to Andrew Kirell as Mediaite‘s chief of staff.

He came to Dan Abrams‘ online media site in April 2012 as a senior editor. He became editor-in-chief in November, 2013.

Kirell will be a senior editor at The Daily Beast, where he will assume control of Cheat Sheet.

Capital New York also reports that Goldie Taylor, formerly of MSNBC and the liberal Blue Nation Review who once blocked a bunch of Mediaite interns from following her on Twitter because of some dumb shit involving Chris Hayes,  will be editor-at-large.

Asked if he thinks he can deal with moving away from being head honcho and into more of a team-building editorial role, Kirell told The Mirror,  “Big step up in terms of traffic and responsibilities, so I’m cool with it.”

Abrams told The Mirror that he essentially lost Kirell to a higher paycheck. “I am sorry to lose Andrew,” he said. “He’s a great guy and has been instrumental in helping Mediaite achieve record traffic numbers this year. I lost another terrific Mediaite associate editor as well last month to Vanity Fair but I have to accept that IAC and Conde Nast have far deeper pockets than do we. I guess this could be called the nature of the ‘beast.’ I look forward to watching Andrew’s career continue to soar.”

Kirell will work in The Daily Beast’s Manhattan bureau. You’ve been warned — he starts at the beginning of October.
