Martin O’Malley blasted Debbie Wasserman Schultz Thursday, suggesting “it is unprecedented” that “the DNC Chair would take upon herself the job of limiting debates in the Democratic Party.”

O’Malley, appearing on MSNBC’s “The Rundown With José Díaz-Balart,” argued limiting debates in the DNC is “not a very democratic way to run the Democratic Party.”

O’Malley criticized the DNC and claimed it was “party malpractice to allow the Republican debates to happen without us answering with our ideas and our candidates.”

The DNC will only have one debate before the New Hampshire primary and one debate before the Iowa caucus, which to O’Malley is “insulting” and “beneath us as the party.” The first DNC debate is Oct. 13, which according to O’Malley is “unprecedented, José, that the DNC chair would take upon herself the job of limiting debates in the Democratic Party.”
