Two football players for Texas Christian University (TCU) were arrested Monday by Fort Worth police officers on charges of felony robbery after robbing and beating three students over a case of Keystone Light beer.

TCU senior defensive end Mike Tuaua and redshirt freshman Andre Petties-Wilson robbed three students Sept. 4, according to Dallas Morning News(RELATED: College Football Player Defends Mother From Step-Father, Arrested For Domestic Assault)

A case of 30 Keystone Light beers sells for roughly $15.

Petties-Wilson and Tuaua argued that the beer was not the motive for the robbery, but instead they acted in self-defense. Tuaua said he punched the students to get them off Petties-Wilson.

One unnamed officer told the Dallas Morning News that, “I pointed out the distinct physical difference between Petties-Wilson and the victims, who are substantially physically smaller and asked him to explain why he felt Petties-Wilson was in danger. Tuaua did not answer that question.” (RELATED: Five Rutgers Football Players Arrested For Litany Of Charges Including Armed Robbery, Assault And Rioting)

It is unclear if the police safely recovered the case of Keystone Light or if Tuaua and Petties-Wilson drank the beer. Neither player has admitted to consuming the stolen Keystone Light.

TCU is currently 3-0 and ranked 3rd in the nation.
