Kanye West was completely serious when he said he was running for president in five years.

In an interview with Vanity Fair published Thursday, West said he still plans to run and that he thinks Ben Carson is a “brilliant” candidate.

“I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do,” West said. “I’ve got a lot of growing up to do.” (VIDEO: Kanye West: ‘I’m Running For President In 2020’)
