NFL Star Russell Wilson Grants Young Girl Her Final Wish Shortly Before She Dies

Ailynn Arredondo Avila’s final wish before dying from Lymphoblastic Leukemia was to ask Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson to be her godfather.

According to KOMO News, Avila talked with Wilson Tuesday during Wilson’s traditional visit to the Seattle Washington Children’s Hospital, and he graciously accepted her offer. Wilson shared a picture of their encounter on Instagram.

She passed away less than 24 hours after Wilson’s visit. Wilson and his girlfriend Ciara both expressed their condolences over Ailynn’s death via Instagram. (RELATED: Georgia Linebacker Proposes To His Girlfriend At The Game)

Before Wilson was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the Seahawks, he became well known for visiting the Seattle Children’s Hospital every Tuesday, and he has not slowed down his appearances after his meteoric rise to fame in the NFL.
