Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton failed to turn over an email correspondence between herself and David Petraeus, officials within the Obama administration announced Friday.

This revelation challenges Clinton’s claim that she turned over all of her work related email communications to investigators that she sent using her “homebrew” email account and server. (RELATED: FBI Has Supposedly Recovered Lost Clinton Emails)

According to the Associated Press, the contents of the emails were mainly of a personal nature, with no classified material, but they are work-related.

The email chain started on Jan. 10, 2009, before Clinton became secretary of state, and it continued into her tenure, with the last email occurring on Feb. 1, 2009.

This specific email chain was first discovered by the Department of Defense and then forwarded to the State Department’s inspector general.

Hillary Clinton has recently said, “When I did it, it was allowed, it was above board. And now I’m being as transparent as possible, more than anybody else ever has been.”

The investigation into her emails is still ongoing, and Clinton is set to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Oct. 22.
