The Washington Nationals’ postseason dreams are over, and tempers boiled over in the 8th inning of the Nationals game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

According to ESPN, Bryce Harper exchanged words with Jonathan Papelbon upon returning to the dugout after Harper flied out in the 8th inning. Papelbon struck Harper and chaos ensued as the two fought with each other in the dugout. Eventually their teammates were able to separate them.

The argument didn’t appear to carry over from the game. Papelbon said in the post game interview that it had been worked out and that, “I grew up with brothers, he grew up with brothers, I view him as a brother. And sometimes in this game, there’s a lot of testosterone and things spill over.”
