If Vice President Joe Biden declares his intention to run for the presidency, he will be invited to participate in the first Democratic presidential primary debate October 13 on CNN.

Lincoln Chafee, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and Jim Webb have been invited to the first DNC sanctioned debate being held in Las Vegas. (RELATED: Martin O’Malley On DNC Limiting Debates: It’s ‘A Cruddy Way To Run A Party’)

Anderson Cooper will be the debate moderator, accompanied by Dana Bash and Juan Carlos Lopez, who will ask additional questions. Don Lemon will ask questions submitted through Facebook.

For Biden to qualify for the debate, he would only need to file the necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission or declare his intention to do so to appear on stage since he already is polling at one percent in a combination of three national polls from August 1, 2015 and October 10, 2015. The debate will air at 9 p.m. eastern standard time on CNN, CNN en Español, CNN International, and streamed on CNNgo. Westwood One broadcast the debate on the radio.
