New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall had a fumble Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles that he coined the “worst play in NFL history” after the game.
Marshall caught a fifteen yard pass, and attempted to lateral the ball to a teammate while being tackled. Instead, Marshall threw the ball directly to an Eagles defender. According to ESPN, Marshall said after the game, “Oh my gosh. Wrong time to gamble. I was pressing. Trying to make a play but can’t do that. That was probably [the] worst play in NFL history.”

The internet appeared to agree with Marshall that his embarrassing lateral attempt was absolutely pathetic.
Stupidest play of the season just committed by Brandon Marshall. Fumbles on toss after catch. Turnover.
