MLB: VIOLENT Collision Puts Rookie Outfielder In The Hospital [VIDEO]

Disaster nearly struck during the St. Louis Cardinals’ 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, Cards outfielders Stephen Piscotty and Peter Bourjas collided while chasing down a ball in the left-center gap, sending Piscotty to the hospital.

WATCH:

Piscotty was knocked unconscious but signaled to the fans while being carted off the field.

The 24-year-old rookie had been hitting .313 in 61 games for the Cardinals this season.
