Piers Morgan called #BlackTwitter racist, and the Internet just can’t even.
Leading Black Lives Matter activist Deray McKesson tweeted “I love my blackness. And yours.” Thursday night, which Piers Morgan retweeted adding, “I love my whiteness and your blackness.”
I love my whiteness and your blackness. > RT @deray I love my blackness. And yours.

A slew of Twitter uses were outraged at Morgan’s tweet, and he apparently thought it would be a good idea to address them all by as one race and accuse them of racism.
Dear #BlackTwitter, Me saying I love white and black people isn’t the most scandalous comment of the day. Relax. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 8, 2015
Not that I mind, but it was @deray who trolled me > RT @Russian_Starr only time I see Piers Morgan trending is when he trolls black people. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 8, 2015
Amusing how racist #BlackTwitter can be whilst abusing someone for being racist who’s not being racist. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 8, 2015
Morgan continued to tweet about the incident, dismissing claims he is racist and responding to critics.
It’s called #Twitter. > RT @iBeVanessa I’m waiting for the day Piers Morgan realizes that he’s not welcome on #BlackTwitter. Go away.

Memo to #BlackTwitter: I’m not ashamed to be white, nor am I ashamed of my record fighting for racial equality & against racial injustice. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 9, 2015
This isn’t the first time Morgan’s tweeting has grabbed the attention of “Black Twitter.” In July, he outraged many for writing a piece critical of Nicki Minaj and then warning his followers by tweeting, “Warning to Black Twitter: I don’t think you’re going to like my column about @NICKIMINAJ.”
He also drew ire for tweeting “#ALLLivesMatter” the day after the contentious Sandra Bland video came out showinng Bland’s questionable arrest.
Morgan may be trying to make a point, but it sure seems like he likes the attention.
