[crscore]Bernie Sanders[/crscore] says the rich in America will be paying “a damn lot higher” in taxes than they are right now if he is elected president.

Sanders, appearing on ABC’s “This Week” evaded host George Stephanopoulos’s questions about what that rate would be or to who it would exactly apply to, but Sanders insisted “we are going to have a tax on Wall Street speculation… [and] we are going to ask Trump and his billionaire friends to pay more taxes.”

Sanders also indicated that he will end the “loophole that allows large corporations to stash their money in the Cayman Islands and in some cases avoid paying all federal income taxes”

Sanders also suggested that he would “raise the estate tax so that Trump and his billionaire friends and their families will pay more in taxes. Another proposal that Sanders suggested was that he would put a “tax on Wall Street speculation.”

Sanders also said that he would increase the payroll tax. When Stephanopoulos insisted that an increase in the payroll tax would harm everyone, not just the wealthy, Sanders agreed with that analysis.

Stephanopoulos also asked Sanders to respond to Trump’s comments that he was a “socialist-slash-communist” and Sanders said, “Well if I had to respond to every absurd thing to what Donald Trump said, I would spend my whole life doing it.” (RELATED: Trump Calls Sanders A ‘Socialist-Slash-Communist’ And A ‘Maniac’)
