Before Sunday’s Carolina Panthers-Green Bay Packers game, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton sent a strong message to not only the Packers, but also to their fans.

During warm ups, Newton decided to take down a fan-made Packers banner, folded it up and handed it to security — making it clear that the Packer’s famous cheesehead fans are not welcome in Charlotte.

The Packers Banner featured an image of the State of North Carolina, with the “North Carolina Cheesehead” written on it.

“There’s a Green Bay banner in Bank of America Stadium,” said Newton after the game. “That don’t match. I feel it’s my due diligence to protect this house. We played in Green Bay last year and I didn’t see no ‘Panther Country’ signs up there.”

While, it was a bad day for the Packers and their fans, with the Panthers beating Green Bay 37-29, it was an extra bad day for Mike Dobs. The Packers fan spent almost $4,000 for a front row seat — all to have Newton take down his Packers, and his beloved sign.

So dismayed, Dobs went to the police after the game claiming that the star quarterback stole his beloved sign, which he keeps in his man cave at home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Dobs reportedly told police the sign is worth $500. (RELATED: Wisconsin Football Star Shows Up To Post-Game As Ricky Bobby, Gives Hilarious Answers [VIDEO])

In response, the Panthers said they destroyed the sign, but said they will find a way to make it up to Dobs.
