Editors Note: As of 6:07 EST President Obama had not wished the USMC a Happy Birthday but VP Joe Biden has.
Today is the United States Marine Corps 240th birthday and many candidates took to social media to wish America’s own a “Happy Birthday.”
Hillary Clinton on the other hand, wished a “Happy Diwali,” the Hindu festival of lights, and did not wish the USMC a happy birthday.
Happy Diwali! Wishing a bright year ahead to all celebrating the Festival of Lights.

Bernie Sanders was too busy to wish the Marine Corps a happy birthday because he was at a #FightFor15 minimum wage rally. He clearly isn’t thankful for the Marines that have kept him safe, affording the protesters the ability to rally in freedom.

Donald Trump, Martin O’Malley, John Kasich, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, and Bobby Jindal did not tweet anything relating to the Marine Corps birthday as well.
However, other candidates did wish the USMC a happy birthday:

Also, the current commander in chief did not wish the USMC a happy birthday on social media.
