Three days after the gruesome terrorist attack in Paris, which has been linked to Islamic State, President Barack Obama’s Facebook has avoided acknowledging the event or its perpetrators in any way.

Obama’s Facebook page has often been used to release statements or videos, and sometimes Obama uses the website to announce policy initiatives (for instance, just last month he used Facebook to announce a change of course on standardized tests). But for nearly three days following Friday night’s attacks, Obama’s Facebook remained totally inactive. Finally, a post was made Monday afternoon, but instead of addressing the Paris attacks the new post instead was about how people could save money on health insurance.

The most popular comments on the post took the president to task for apparently ignoring Paris.

“Mr. President, please don’t travel outside the US for the remainder of your term,” said one user. “You are embarrassing us in front of the world.”

It isn’t always Obama’s policy to avoid mentioning tragic events on social media. In June, he made a brief post promoting gun control measures after the Charleston church shooting.

Obama is also being criticized for public comments he delivered Monday in Turkey concerning the Paris attack and his strategy regarding ISIS. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer even went into an on-air tirade over Obama’s rhetoric, which included describing Friday’s attack as a “setback.” (RELATED: Obama Described ISIS As ‘Contained’ On Friday Morning)

“If you were waiting to hear a US President say, ‘I feel your pain’ or if you were waiting to hear a US President say, ‘It’s them or us,’ that is not what you just heard,” Hemmer said.
