There’s a reason Russell Westbrook won the 2014-2015 NBA Cares Community Assist Award.

Since entering the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s All-Star point guard has made a huge point of giving back to the community. And on Tuesday, Westbrook — in partnership with his “WHY NOT? Foundation” — handed out 850 Thanksgiving dinners to members of OKC’s Boys & Girls Club.

Tuesday marked Westbrook’s fourth consecutive year hosting a community dinner in Oklahoma City, and the 27-year-old L.A. native will hold a second dinner at Jesse Owens Park in his home town next Tuesday.

Cheers, Russ.

Thanks for being one of the good guys. (RELATED: Russell Westbrook Gives Single Mom A New Car)
