Several high-profile soccer matches have been affected by the Paris terror attacks, but U.S. Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan urged fans around the world not to let terrorists ruin the sport on Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, stadium officials foiled an attempted attack at the Germany-Netherlands exhibition match, while fans at a game in Turkey interrupted a pre-match moment of silence for Paris by chanting “Allahu Akbar.” (VIDEO: Soccer Fans Boo Paris Moment Of Silence, Chant ‘Allahu Akbar’)

Still, Morgan thinks soccer is the perfect vehicle for overcoming this latest threat.

“It’s really unfortunate, what’s going on around the world — having to close down games,” Morgan told TMZ. “I don’t think soccer should ever make anyone afraid to play. I think it brings the world together.”
