More Guns Sold This Year On Black Friday Than Any Other Day On Record

More background checks were processed this year on Black Friday for gun sales than any other day on record in the history of America.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on Black Friday, according to a recent FBI report.

The FBI’s chief of multimedia productions Stephen Fischer wrote to USA Today, “This was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014. According to the FBI, Black Friday shopping since 2012 has ranked every year in the top 10 days for most background checks requested for firearm sales.

According to the FBI, there have been more than 220 million background check requests for gun purchases since 1998. It is federal law for gun dealers that have a Federal Firearms License require background checks for all sales.
