A producer for the upcoming film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” announced Sunday that the infamous and legendary Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks will not appear in the upcoming film.
There had a been a rumor circulating around the web that Jar Jar Binks was actually an evil Sith lord, and even the villain in the upcoming film. But producer Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that, “Jar Jar is definitely not in the movie.”
The comments, which were made at a news conference, got a warm reception as the crowd cheered the good news.
Binks was of course the idiot alien from the planet of Naboo that was introduced in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” and his presence continued throughout the prequels. (RELATED: Watch The New Star Wars Trailer Here [VIDEO])
Kennedy also confirmed that there won’t be any of the famous ewoks from “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” in the film either.
