Tina Fey can’t believe Tracy Morgan is alive today.
The 45-year-old comedian explained just how dire his condition was after a Walmart tractor trailer struck the limousine he was in last June, killing his friends James McNair and putting him in a coma.
“I honestly can’t believe that he made it,” Fey said during an interview with Howard Stern for the first time since 2006. “He was so frail before [the accident], he was so diabetic.”
“For him to have survived that, it’s incredible.” (VIDEO: Tracy Morgan On His Return To Comedy: ‘I Never Left’)
Fey was with Amy Poehler when she found out about Morgan’s wreck.
“He was in really bad shape,” Fey added. “We were just going through [his publicist] to see how he was doing, because he was in a coma.” (RELATED: Tracy Morgan Describes Intense Religious Experience He Had After Car Wreck That Nearly Killed Him)
