Charles Krauthammer explained he is going to “conceal carry for the time being” because Donald Trump accepted praise from Vladimir Putin, a leader known for having journalists and political opponents mysteriously die.

Appearing Friday on the Fox News’s “Special Report” All Star Panel, Krauthammer suggested he took Trump’s comments “as a heads up.”

Wednesday at a campaign rally at the Phoenix Mesa-Gateway Airport, Trump poured gasoline on the feud between himself and the syndicated columnist proclaiming,”I got to tell you, Krauthammer is terrible to me. He is the worst! And I’m not allowed to criticize him so I’m going to be very nice. Krauthammer, he’s terrible. He’s terrible!”

Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, host Joe Scarborough pressed Trump about accepting praise from the Russian president who “kills journalists, political opponents, and invades countries” when Trump said, “He’s running his country, and at least he’s a leader, you know, unlike what we have in this country.” (RELATED: Trump Downplays Putin Killing Journalists, Dissidents [VIDEO])

On “Special Report” later on Friday, Krauthammer told Bret Baier, “Well on the thing about the killing the journalists, I took it as a heads up. After all, on Wednesday, he called me the worst of the worst so I’m going to conceal carry for the time being.”

Baier asked him if he would carry the whole election, and Krauthammer explained, “Until it’s decided. Look, Trump’s numbers are astonishing. The lead is extremely wide and what’s most interesting is that in just about all the major national polls, he gained about ten points or so right after the Muslim statement, right after the debate, where the Muslim statement was a big deal and he defended it again and again… The people have spoken.”
