Rep. [crscore]Trey Gowdy[/crscore] will reportedly endorse Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] for president and campaign with him in Iowa.
Gowdy, who chairs the House investigation into the Benghazi terrorist attacks, will endorse the Florida senator Tuesday, Bloomberg Politics has confirmed.
“Marco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust. I look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him, and introducing my good friend to voters across the state,” Gowdy said in a statement the Rubio campaign released on Saturday. TownHall first reported that the South Carolina congressman will campaign with Rubio.

According to CNN, Gowdy will offer Rubio his “full support,” but sources stopped short of an official endorsement. Gowdy is slated to speak at six town halls in Iowa on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Gowdy’s endorsement comes on the heels of South Carolina Sen. [crscore]Lindsey Graham[/crscore] dropping out of the Republican presidential primary last week. The endorsement is noteworthy since South Carolina is an early primary state. (RELATED: Graham Drops Out Of Presidential Race [VIDEO])
