San Diego Chargers All-Pro safety Eric Weddle was fined $10,000 for watching his daughter’s halftime performance during a game against the Miami Dolphins.

The game took place on Dec. 20, and Weddle apparently didn’t tell his coaches that he intended to watch his daughter’s performance. Instead of privately dealing with Weddle’s actions in a meaningless game, the Charges chose to make it a huge public issue. The team not only fined him $10,000 for conduct detrimental to the team, but also placed him on injured reserve for the rest of the season, which means he will not be able to travel with the team for its final road game of the year. Weddle will be a free agent at the end of the year, and while he has been silent on this issue, it appears that his tenure in San Diego could be over.
