“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace called out Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie for his criticism of Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] missing significant votes in the Senate, asking the New Jersey governor “who are you to criticize?”

Wallace noted that New Jersey journalists have found that Christie has “been away from New Jersey for all or part of 72 percent of the time since” announcing his candidacy for president.

Christie has been a vocal critic of Rubio missing Senate votes, but both front-runner Donald Trump and Rubio have attacked Christie for neglecting New Jersey. (RELATED: Chris Christie Defends Signing Terror Watch List Gun Ban As Governor)

“When you look at the total, over 200 days in 2015,” Wallace added, “which raises the question — who are you to criticize?”

“I’m on the job every day, Chris,” the New Jersey governor said. “That’s the difference between being a governor and being a senator. I’m on the job every day.”

Christie then ripped into Rubio for missing the recent Omnibus spending bill.

“Senator Rubio just hasn’t shown up to vote,” he said. “And listen, I understand he can’t be there for every day, he’s running for president. I get that, but you know there was a $1.15 trillion spending bill which he said he was absolutely opposed to. I would think he could take one day off of fund-raising to just go and cast his no vote and speak on the floor to try to persuade his colleagues.”

“Anybody who has been a governor — and I understand those who haven’t been don’t understand this — I am on the job everyday no matter where I am,” Christie added. “It’s never a day off. And I’m always working to help the people of New Jersey and to do my job.”

Wallace then warned Christie while transitioning to a segment about governor’s meager New Jersey approval ratings.

“You say you’re on the job everyday, but I gotta tell you — and it’s something you should know — you’re getting hammered in New Jersey for being away so much,” Wallace said.
